Montana wins second straight N7 game and sets program record in threes

The Montana Lady Griz donned turquoise jerseys representing Indigenous culture on Jan. 27 and beat the Sacramento State University Hornets 84-57.

The Lady Griz showed off the jerseys for the second year in a row as Montana continued its partnership with the Nike N7. The color turquoise has many different meanings in Indigenous culture, ranging from representing life itself to representing solidarity and community.

Montana basketball wins 99-68 against Western Washington in fundraiser for honorary Grizzly battling cancer

Montana unofficially started its basketball season with a 99-68 win against Division II Western Washington University Vikings in front of a crowd out to support a young Montanan fighting brain cancer.

Montana knocks out Bison in double overtime 31-29 to head to FCS title game

For the first time since 2009, the Montana Grizzlies punched its ticket to the FCS title game in a dramatic double-overtime victory over the North Dakota State Bison 31-29 in Missoula on Dec. 16.

“We're ecstatic to get the victory,” head coach Bobby Hauck said. “It's one of the biggest, greatest games in the history of our stadium and it's a pleasure to be a part of it.”

Bulldogs bully Montana in 83-70 season opener loss

Forward Dani Bartsch’s stunning performance wasn’t enough to clinch a win as the Lady Griz lost out in its season opener 83-70 to the Gonzaga University Bulldogs.

“They're not just gonna roll over and die at the first struggle that they have,” Bartsch said. “One of our goals was to keep throwing punches as the game went on.”

Montana clinches 34-7 victory against Sac State, makes Hauck winningest coach in Big Sky history

In a game defined by player ejections, windy weather and broken records, Montana Grizzly football takes down the Sacramento State University Hornets 34-7 to secure Bobby Hauck’s 124th win, making him the winningest coach in Big Sky Conference history.

Grizzlies deliver swift 3-0 beatdown to Vandals for a Taylor Swift-themed crowd

Taylor Swift songs rang out through Dahlberg Arena as the University of Montana beat the University of Idaho Vandals 3-0 with a little help from some Swifties.

The Grizzlies welcomed a mighty crowd into Dahlberg Arena for Taylor Swift Night with old and new Swift-hits fueling a fiery fanbase. The Vandals were looking to disrupt the celebrations and earn its first conference win of the season.

Montana goes undefeated in conference play with 1-0 win against Portland State

Montana soccer earned the best record in program history by taking down the Portland State University Vikings 1-0 in front of a packed crowd at the final game of the regular season.

The last nice days of the year came at the right time for the Grizzlies as it celebrated being undefeated in conference play while also showcasing Kathleen Aitchison, Abby Gearhart, Sydney Haustein, Molly Quarry, Audrey Teague and Maysa Walters on senior day.

In front of a sold-out crowd on national television, the Grizzlies marched into Moscow, Idaho, and lifted the Little Brown Stein trophy high after upsetting the third-ranked team in the country, the University of Idaho Vandals, 23-21.
